Hi darling, my name is Tessa and I am the founder of Vintess Vintage; My ultimate passion project.
How it started: I grew up surrounded by all kinds of yarns, fabrics and knitting machines. My parents had their own shop and made their own designs. I literally played hide and seek with my brothers in piles of fabric "waste". My mother even made clothes for my Barbiedolls, life was good.
Becoming an designer or store owner myself did not interest me at first. I wanted to be a photographer, so I went to a photography school.
When I finished my education, I felt lost. I didn’t want to create images for other people, it made me feel insecure and was never able te be proud of my work. A result of working draining jobs was that I stopped photographing all together, I simply didn't have the time and energy anymore.
I lost interest in photography all together because i could not imagine a life where i would feel secure enough to e creative with it again.
However.. My love for fashion and extraordinairy vintage never went away.. It has allways been there and been part of my life, subcontiously. My mom tought me all I need to know about fabrics and how to recognize quality vintage.
During the pandemic everything slowed down and suddenly I had room to be creative again. I stumbled across a big bulk of Vintage for sale one day and everything clicked. I knew
this was the time to start my own little online business and just went for it!
And now I have this wonderfull little world that's called Vintess Vintage. I make all the pictures myself and ask friends to model for me regularly.
My mom still teaches me how to sew and comes with me on shopping trips.
I hope to find magical colorfull pieces, that truly bring out the goddess in YOU! And hopefully you will treasure them forever.
A little special thanks to my love Bart& my Mom who helps me so so so much with creative concepts or just keeping me sane.
The collection
Vintess vintage has a various style, for every mood. 70s/80s/90s Vintage with a colorfull vibe and loads of Western vibes. I dont have a particular style so neather should you. Just wear what feels right.
Occasionally I sell items from the modern age, thats called Pre-Loved.
Extra Note
Please remember that Vintage clothing often has had a full life, and sometimes there are flaws on the items that I've missed. That is also part of the fun with Vintage, sometimes you find something so so perfect. And sometimes the flaws add a little character. I always try to seek the flaws out and of course always will be honest about the flaws that i did noticed. despite the flaws, all these items deserve a new loving home.
Have fun shopping!
